Douthat Dam's Cascades

Description

The awesome little stonework drop-offs that allow some water to cross the dam of Douthat Lake (which is a very small manmade lake, mostly taken over for humans' recreation) in the Douthat State Park. ^^ The reeds you see here are part of a recent (well, ecologically recent--from the 90s) effort to make sure the water that leaves the lake and reenters the natural streams below are clean enough to sustain the native trout population.

They also provide a relatively human-inaccessible environment for a lot of the park's important amphibians, insect, birds and reptiles. ^^' Without the risk of being trampled by ignorant touristy "glampers". XD
