Two Raptor Restoration Drawings

Description

^w^ Something I've been working on... scientific and accurate restorations of a couple of well-known raptors. Feathering distribution and body mass are as close as I can get to what's currently known.

Top one (blue, brown, white) is a Velociraptor.

Bottom one is a Dromaeosaurus.

Drawn with colored pencils only. ^^ Took over an hour for each, since I was looking up many refs and papers for it... Still think they could be improved. If I had to change anything it would be the tail-fans on these... hmmmm, lemme know what you guys think about that.

An awesome job! The feathers look very good, and I love how the legs on the Dromaeosaurus are completely covered and the bodies are not shrink-wrapped, instead coated in a dense fluffy mass.

I am not a dinosaur expert, and we don't have any proof as of yet what color any dinosaurs lacking preserved feathers are, but I do think the Velociraptor is a bit flashy. But hey, look at predators like kingfishers, snakes and kestrels, all of which are enormously successful. The colors are also reminiscent of a Spix's macaw, which is cool whether intentional or not. So all in all, fantastic job!
