I might as well start by saying--OOF--do I get annoyed by how common it is for characters from anime (especially girls) to be catastrophically underweight by all measures of health and by what their build and athletic prowess is even supposed to be like. While BMI is pretty shit and very much only designed for adult white dudes in the first place (meaning East Asian characters will generally be safely a bit lighter on that scale without any worry, and African, Pacific Islander, and various other Brown Indigenous folks much heavier while still being average), the degree to which anime-designed characters get underweighted is... kinda shocking. Conversely, fatter characters will often get either a weight WAY lower than is appropriate for their athleticism or lack thereof, or because they're just fatter, will be weighted much too heavily for their height and general average musculature underneath (fat isn't really that heavy--and while bigger people who have that weight longer will generally just be a notch more muscular just to carry themselves, this doesn't account for the ridiculous weight padding in anime on fairly fat-high, muscle-low characters who really shouldn't weight nearly that much).

It's almost as if society in general doesn't understand how much bodies should weigh at different heights, shapes, and musculature levels, and anime-styled folk just sort of assume everyone should be "skinny" anyways and publicly available "skinny" weights are probably weighted towards "Hollywood skinny"... which is more than likely underweight, if not so because of various EDs, drugs, or both.

So without further ado, I present Danganronpa characters with their canon heights and weights, and my comments along with what I believe their weights should be based on their athletic capacity, visual build (a little leeway since the anime-styled sprites sure are STYLED... and sometimes not anatomically correct XD), and their overall size and frame:

Makoto Naegi

Height: 5 feet, 3 inches

Canon Weight: 115 lbs

My Take: This is a lower weight, of course, but for a young guy of such a height, this is just about in the acceptable range, especially when you consider East Asians are a bit smaller on the scale on average. This gives him a BMI still over 20, which is pretty low for the average healthy American, but is not Underweight on the scale and since this is a 16-year-old who is pretty skinny in build, very appropriate for the character.

My Weight: SAME, 115 lbs

Kiyotaka Ishimaru

Height: 5 feet, 9 inches

Canon Weight: 146 lbs

My Take: This is low. Not as egregious as any of the girls' weights upcoming, but Taka seems to have a significant level of athleticism and some definite muscle tone for someone his age, and on top of that is actually fairly tall. If I added just a few pounds, he would still be of a lower BMI for an American, which feels okay but maybe a beginnings of the hints to how wildly wrong these character weights get.

My Weight: Slight adjustment, up to 149 lbs

Byakuya Togami

Height: 6 feet, 1 inch

Canon Weight: 150 lbs

My Take: Look, I don't like this guy, but... even with how tremendously low-athleticism and weedy he clearly is, with the height he has his canon weight has him barely more than a stick with a human noggin on top. He needs a whole baby's worth of musculature and organs added to him to make sense, even as a highly lanky dude. And that's just what I intend to do, since I don't believe he's anywhere near moderate fitness and just won the "is always skinny" genetic lottery and never had to do much due to, well, billionaire BS.

My Weight: Adjusted up, 162 lbs

Mondo Owada

Height: 6 feet, 2 inches

Canon Weight: 168 lbs

My Take: WOW. As a tall character, and as a character who's supposed to be pretty tough and buff, this is actually super thin. To be fair, I'M SHORTER THAN HIM AND WEIGHT MORE, and am not quite as athletic as the build he's presented as. Mondo deserves better (and bigger).

My Weight: Adjusted significantly up, 190 lbs

Leon Kuwata

Height: 5 feet, 9 inches

Canon Weight: 148 lbs

My Take: Well... it's better than Taka's, but considering Leon's a junior pro baseball player and his level of muscle should reflect that, it's actually pretty low. ALSO a relatively tall guy for the age and area with an unusually low weight. I don't think the people working on DR ever encountered a practicing athlete of any shape.

My Weight: Adjusted slightly up, 155 lbs

Hifumi Yamada

Height: 5 feet, 7 inches

Canon Weight: 342 lbs

My Take: AND HERE WEEEE GO with what I meant about the fat characters also getting unrealistically weighed. I don't care for the fat-hate that appears in the series (and fandom) but I appreciate that the fat characters--while generally treated bad in the narrative for bullshit societal reasons so that they sort of get shunted into "joke" characters even if they're capable, strong, and know more of what's up--do get stuff added in that gives them some variety of shape and build, as well as significantly more developed characters than more anime fat folk (who usually don't even fare THIS "well"). Hifumi suffers as the fattest character across games... also the only character who could be interpreted as having a facial deformity based on the "cat lip" (which could be a hare lip, if Kodaka was even a smidge brave and just had a character have a non-"cool" disfigurement with no comment). As the fattest character in build... he also weirdly got OVERweighted in the canon, since it's not that likely he's much of a big muscle-builder guy. Definitely has more muscle mass than Makoto due to sheer weight and height advantage but... his main passion is in creating fan-content of ridiculous skill and appeal--doujinshi and fanfic--which is a very much sedentary skill. While he canonically can put on a great turn of speed in a 100 meter dash (as shown by old school photo where he was coming in Third place, ahead of even Sakura for the moment), he's probably not a super-athletic fat dude, just a standard active fat boy making his canon weight ridiculously high.

My Weight: Adjusted greatly down, 285 lbs

Yasuhiro Hagakure

Height: 6 foot

Canon Weight: 157 lbs

My Take: Oddly... I'm okay with this one. Hiro seems like the skeletaly-tall dude into oils and crystals and other vaguely unhealthful bullshit fads. He wouldn't be dangerously thin at this weight, and he definitely isn't at all muscular or even slightly fit based on swimsuit graphics. He a thin dude. A tall, thin guy with dubious knowledge. Being 30% right in clairvoyance doesn't mean you're more than 0% right when it comes to how good for you those god-awful juice diets are... XD

My Weight: Unchanged, 157 lbs

Sayaka Maizono

Height: 5 foot 5 inches

Canon Weight: 108 lbs

My Take: ... it begins... Danganronpa girls, much like many anime series' women characters, become... professional model weights only despite their age group, their activity level, their diet, or even their visual build in the case of less obviously underweight-looking characters. Sayaka perhaps is a case study in that--even in a girl who is SUPPOSED to be a Pop Idol and thus probably pressured to be or naturally much thinner than average--she is STILL given a weight too small for her apparent build, age, and fitness level. To be open--I WAS HER HEIGHT AT HER AGE OF SIXTEEN...I was quite slim then, and guess what? I was almost thirty pounds heavier than her! Under 110 for a growing 16-year-old who isn't ill with something is kinda insane at her height... And while I won't discount pop music pressure to be thinner, I would like to give them healthier weights in general, even if they aren't the MOST ideal ones.

My Weight: Adjusted up, 116 lbs

Kyoko Kirigiri

Height: 5 feet 6 inches

Canon Weight: 106 lbs

My Take: *screams into a pillow* WHY IS THE SPRY, ACTIVE DETECTIVE A FULL INCH TALLER THAN THE THIN POP IDOL WHO LOOKS FULLER FIGURED THAN THE THIN POP IDOL EVEN LIGHTER THAN HER????!?! Yeah, if you couldn't tell, this is very wrong. Even being taller with the same build should GIVE Kyoko a few pounds on Sayaka... not the opposite! I would also suppose a detective always on the move for investigations and needing some self-defensive training on the regular would be as or a little more active than a Jpop star (not a Jpop backup dancer though... oof).

My Weight: Adjusted up greatly, 121 lbs

Aoi Asahina

Height: 5 feet 3 inches

Canon Weight: 110 lbs

My Take: WHAT. THIS IS ONE OF THE ATHLETE CHARACTERS. A SWIMMER AT THAT. WHAT THE FUCK. Poor Hina! Not only does she get the shit end of the stick in character development by having "eats lots, and/or is kinda dumb" (by being a darker skinned character... VERY odd how that happens to almost all dark characters across games... with only like one exception), but she gets carved down into a teeny stick of a girl with no swimming athlete muscles by her canonical weight... As the Ultimate Swimmer, you would THINK Hina would be fuckin' BUILT for her petite frame. Granted she don't look it by her sprites, but... Anime style is loathe to give girls any muscles, unless it's Sakura apparently. While Hina's sprite is very inaccurate for her fitness level, I will grade up her body weight by what she should be, not by what she looks like (because she somehow looks no more athletic than Sayaka).

My Weight: Adjusted up greatly, 129 lbs

Toko Kukawa (also Genocide Jack/Syo)

Height: 5 feet 4 inches

Canon Weight: 104 lbs

My Take: Look here... I once knew a girl who was 5'7" and 124 lbs. She looked SO MUCH THICKER than any of the smaller girl sprites in Dangit Grandpa. And of course, for real life, she looked VERY thin. Her height factored in, of course, and she had a healthy attitude towards food since she NEVER gained weight and was active, but still... She was one of the healthy Super-thin, very odd even for thinner countries, and she was TWENTY POUNDS BIGGER than Toko. While being proportionately much skinnier-looking than Toko. Anime girls get the Hell Underweight, is what I'm saying.

My Weight: Adjusted up slightly, 115 lbs

Sakura Ogami

Height: 6 feet 4 inches

Canon Weight: 218 lbs

My Take: This is... TERRIBLE. The people deciding the weights clearly don't understand the weight of muscles, don't understand the weight of fat, and REALLY don't understand what characters outside the standard "Anime Paper-slip" build should weight. I would expect a fairly lanky, not-muscular man of this height to weigh about this much, not SAKURA, the most JACKED character in the entire Danganronpa series. Just look at her! She's a powerhouse! She's got biceps the size of Hina's head! And she's 6+ feet tall??? Who's even considering she weighs on the lower 200s of poundage??? Muscle weighs a ton--strictly the reason why BMI is useless for anyone even remotely athletic! Because EVERYONE who builds a visibly slight amount of muscle (even under fat as sumo do) will instantly jump into the "overweight" or "obese" category because, well, they weigh more! Health not accounted for! Sakura should be HUGE on the scale--because she can probably bench like almost twice her own considerable weight and split like 20 concrete tiles in one BIG chop! She's mighty and massive and I love her! She deserves better--to easily outsize the weird incel dudes in the weightroom and leave by carrying Hina on her shoulder to leave them deservedly hopeless!

My Weight: Adjusted up MASSIVELY, 280 lbs

Celestia Ludenberg

Height: 5 feet 5 inches

Canon Weight: 101 lbs

My Take: ... I don't care for this girl... but STILL. MY GOD. How can you think it's reasonable for a growing 16-year-old to be 5' 5" and barely over 100 pounds. How. That's worrying even in Japan. That's like serious "does my kid have a hormone disorder?" level of worry, assuming an ED is not to blame. Granted, Celeste is THIN, even compared to others. By like two pixels, but that's what anime style has to do to make all the "normal" girls even remotely bigger. Good lord.

My Weight: Adjusted up, 115 lbs

"Junko", but actually Mukuro

Height: 5 feet 7 inches

Canon Weight: 97 lbs

My Take: ... This is the "Ultimate Soldier" they're talking about. Soldier. Implying fitness. Implying fitness far beyond that of the average soldier. You know, the average 5' 7" soldier, who of course is UNDER 100 POUNDS. That's not impossible. She's lighter than her FASHION MODEL SISTER. LIGHTER. The SOLDIER is lighter than the FASHION MODEL. Do I have to explain how this is wrong as hell? Like... Mukuro can be LIGHTLY BUILT... but lighter than a fucking FASHION MODEL???

My Weight: Adjusted up greatly, 122 lbs

Chihiro Fujisaki

Height: 4 feet 10 inches

Canon Weight: 90 lbs

My Take: (Note, as according to canon, I'm calling Chihiro a he, as outside of hiding identity Chihiro clearly wanted to be known as a he. It's... not a great representation of gender stuff on the part of Japanese media, but it's better than making him default evil and a perv and a monster or something like older media.) Even for a boy as small and very canonically not-built as he is... 90 pounds seems undercutting it. Even at this height! Well, really, especially for someone Chihiro's height--under five feet, one pound means a lot, and in health a sudden weight loss of even one or two pounds in someone this size can indicate the onset of something nasty... He doesn't even have to be over 100 pounds to be an appropriate weight for his height and age, but I'm guessing Japan doesn't have the "98-pound weakling" trope/joke, or he'd probably end up with that even if it would make him more fleshed out.

My Weight: Adjusted up, 98 lbs

Junko Enoshima

Height: 5 feet 7 inches

Canon Weight: 99 lbs

My Take: Wow, yes, see the Mukuro Ikusabe section... but yeah, even 99 pounds at this height is HELLACIOUSLY UNDERWEIGHT. Considering her character seems so super nasty fat-shaming and critical in the games and especially the anime, I don't think I need to adjust her to be up to a healthy weight, as she seems messed up already and probably as a fashion model does actually occupy an Underweight classification at all times. But then... everything about this girl's supposed to be unwell and twisted, so her body condition can follow the theme... ugh...

My Weight: Adjusted up, 105 lbs

Danganronpa 2: Goodbye Despair Characters (Plus DR:3 Anime)

Hajime Hinata (Izuru Kamakura alter ego)

Height: 5 feet 8 inches

Canon Weight: 147 lbs

My Take: Again, much like Makoto, for some reason the Protagonist Pointy Hairmans get a perfectly normal weight for a lanky teen boy of their height. This makes me think a developer had experience in that regard and then tripped onto their face trying to estimate any other character type's weight...

My Weight: Unchanged!

Akane Owari

Height: 5 feet 7 inches

Canon Weight: 123 lbs

My Take: *sigh* This is of course the Ultimate Gymnast who has a keen interest in martial arts as well and is only an inch shorter than the SKINNY LITTLE DUDE WHO MAYBE DID A GAME OR TWO, by no means very buff or trained at all... and SOMEHOW THIS ELITE ATHLETE WEIGHS OVER 20 POUNDS LIGHTER??? She's even the "Sailor Jupiter" character (the "identical build, but HUGE boobs one), so she logically should weight even more than the tragically untittied Hajime... Sakura Ogami was a wonderful design in that it thought MAYBE BUFF GIRL??? But then the second a girl is less than THAT buff... they weigh the same as the pencil-neck models... XD

My Weight: Adjusted up greatly, 155 lbs

"Byakuya Togami", or the Ultimate Imposter

Height: Unconfirmed, seems to be in the 5 feet 10 inches range to the 6 foot range (affected greatly by performance, posture, and avoiding height references)

Canon Weight: 286 lbs

My Take: Honestly, with how tall they are, with how casually poised and ready to be physical in their appearances they are, and with how... effortlessly they moved from place to place in game, far faster and earlier than even the most athletic (stereotypically) characters... the Imposter seems very much to have a build and athleticism like a sumo, making him MUCH more muscular and fit than anyone would take them for... In game they even use sumo thrusts to force Nagito away from the hidden knife! The anime's design for their real face also looks very much like a casual rikishi with their hair down, and their responsibility and intellect when shown seems to be referencing sumotori practices. Aside from that, their appetite is very sumo-like, especially when paired with a UTDP part where he gives nutrition advise to the more gung-ho Akano, telling her to get veggies first for her health while not being an assbutt about calorie restriction. All in all, everything indicates... the Imposter has been UNDERWEIGHTED! Probably due to the idea that, well, he's not AS fat as Hifumi, therefore he should weigh less! Unaware entirely of the fact that a fat person who is of a stronger, more athletic build and higher activity level will have more muscle, and thus weight more, sometimes tremendously more! This is gonna be a pattern for all the more physically fit characters, but especially so for this one... Sumo builds are poorly-understood, but based on height range and what I can see and extrapolate, the following is closer to what the Ultimate Imposter should weigh:

My Weight: Adjusted up massively, 333 lbs

Chiaki Nanami

Height: 5 feet 2 inches

Canon Weight: 101 pounds

My Take: Oooh, ah... Not good. I mean, it's expected that the Ultimate Gamer maybe doesn't do much body-building, but... oof. Maybe her being thin could be... more of an average thin in that regard? Not a "I got out of the hospital after a week of nausea and infection and this is the first day I can eat more than rice or toast" level of skinny. Is this a Ryota-starving-himself-from-ultimate-passion situation? No? Maybe don't make her that level of concerningly thing!

My Weight Adjusted up, 113 lbs

Fuyuhiko Kuzuryu

Height: 5 feet 1 inch

Canon Weight: 94 lbs

My Take: Uhhhh... I see wha'cha were goin' for, but... you're about to be killed by two Yakuza guys with concealed pistols for talking about their boss in such a way. He's still a 16 year old, and taller than Chihiro while being much closer in build to other boys like Hajime, Makoto, or even Kazuichi. He's not going to just be proportional to Chihiro because he's still short. He also seems to be built similarly to Hajime, so if anything, just scale that guy down a few inches to find Fuyuhiko's more realistic weight.

My Weight: Adjusted up, 105 lbs

Gundham Tanaka

Height: 5 feet 9 inches

Canon Weight: 163 lbs

My Take: This one is close to accurate. I'm unsure as to why as there are similarly-tall characters who are far lighter... is the canon weight including the scarf and hamsters? That would be stupid if so, as this weight is about the bare minimum for him being bare naked and being just the buffness he is. Gundham is unlike most teens in that he isn't in a sport yet has a defined six-pack (likely derived from animal-wrangling and taming activity). What seems weird to me is... the writers of the stats clearly know he's buffer than most others, and they inch his weight up accordingly... but they're SO below the norm of weights already that they almost sell short the buff guy they KNOW is buff just by going by automatic social ideas of what "thin" and "built" are...

My Weight: Adjusted up slightly, 169 lbs

Hiyoko Saionji

Height: 4 feet 2 inches

Canon Weight: 68 lbs

My Take: Hiyoko wins the prepubescent, late-bloomer lottery in terms of the uneducated dinguses deciding her weight at this canon height being probably accidentally right! This is the stats before her 16-17 year growth spurt, so that's the only accurate one. The fact she naturally has a petite build regardless helps with making her tininess not only possible but logical.

My Weight: No change, 68 lbs.

Ibuki Mioda

Height: 5 feet 3 inches

Canon Weight: 92 lbs

My Take: ..! ..!!! Now... Ibuki is once or twice implied to be underweight in manga adaptations, but... this degree of underweight is like... check this girl over in all ways, because there's no way there isn't SOMETHING if she's still that far under 100 pounds at her activity and height. Since she's implied to be so in manga which flesh out a bit more, I feel like it wouldn't be too off if she turns out to be just naturally extremely skinny, no matter what she eats, like the girl I once knew but just shorter and more punk-rock!

My Weight: Adjusted up slightly, 104 lbs

Kazuichi Souda

Height: 5 feet 6 inches

Canon Weight: 141 lbs

My Take: Is it just me, or do Straight Sized Dudes tend to be the only ones in these within the bounds of realism? Kazuichi seems somewhat active but wiry, so this weight makes perfect sense with his height as shown. He's not doing Akane-level workouts, but is pulling open engine blocks and climbing to install wiring and monitoring readouts.

My Weight: Same, 141 lbs

Mahiru Koizumi

Height: 5 feet 4 inches

Canon Weight: 101 lbs

My Take: ... OOf... while I interpret Mahiru as being a very (and sometimes annoyingly) "traditional" personality... I fail to see how being a dozen pounds lighter than even the lightest one'd expect of someone her build and height to be is very keeping with traditional values. I generally also don't care for her as much due to how she regards the Imposter and Gundham, both being odd by conventional standards... It makes some sense that she may've been a bully at one point, but I'd hope with her more polite attitude now she's gotten better. STILL... even if she was bitchy as Hiyoko, she doesn't deserve this level of Stick-i-fication!

My Weight: Adjusted up, 115 lbs

Mikan Tsumiki

Height: 5 feet 4 inches

Canon Weight: 125 lbs

My Take: Oh hey, the "heaviest girl character" of the second game... weighed what I did in SEVENTH GRADE AS A QUITE THIN PERSON OF THE SAME HEIGHT. Yeah. Her build, in game, doesn't even seem slightly heavier, just... full-figured? More like a realistic drawing of a thin girl? Like, "isn't lacking in growth and able to move easily", as a category of teenager shape? Basically what you expect a 16-year-old to start looking like if they're on the thin side and don't have a known disorder or an ED? GOOD LORD, is THAT the "big" girl character? Hiyoko's even more of a shit for that. Mikan has weathered more BS and awfulness than we'll ever know. Is the Danganronpa world even more fucked than we know???

My Weight: Adjusted up, 136 lbs

Nagito Komaeda

Height: 5 feet 9 inches

Canon Weight: 143 lbs

My Take: This is a weird fella to evaluate. For one he's... got some issues, and for the other he clearly needs some help (which in no way means he's harmless... help needed is tied right to the way he's so very, uhh... wanting to die or wanting to kill, by situation). His issues seem to have been implied also by his incredibly lanky build and slightly lower weight than protagonist Hajime. I think he is indeed meant to be very concerningly thin... but being taller than Hajime this could have been accomplished by giving the two similar weights.

My Weight: Adjusted, 145 lbs

Nekomaru Nidai

Height: 6 feet 4 inches

Canon Weight: 268 lbs

My Take: Since he is indeed a male, Nekomaru doesn't get it as hard as poor Sakura (and to a lesser degree poor Imposter due to fatness), but he does indeed get it. He doesn't deserve it, since he's basically the only confirmed disabled character in Danganronpa at all (backstory strongly implying Chrons' Disease or some similar condition or condition complex), which is perhaps nice he can is shown to still pursue such an active life while still disabled in this way within universe. Still, given his height combined with his just-sub-Sakura build, he should weight more.

My Weight: Adjusted up, 276 lbs

Peko Pekoyama

Height: 5 feet 6 inches

Canon Weight: 112 lbs

My Take: ORGH. URRFF. She's how tall and is what talent. How. How. I was bigger as a floppy Seventh Grader while still being shorter. HOW?!? The answer is, a male Japanese writer and a number of Japanese programmers and sprite artists have never seen an athletic young woman in their damn lives and maybe never spoke to 16-year-old when they were actually 16. JEE-SUS. She's the Ultimate Swordswoman. She most certainly undergoes physical training, or she wouldn't be so skilled. How now is she supposed to be skinnier than a skinny as fuck American 7th grader her own height? Bad understanding of how human flesh works, that's how!

My Weight: Adjusted up greatly , 136 lbs

Sonia Nevermind

Height: 5 feet 7 inches

Canon Weight: 110 lbs

My Take: Similar to, but not identical to Peko's situation... I wonder how strange it is that Sonia is supposed to be European, and yet is weighed as if she is a teeny tiny no-muscle anime girl, despite her nationality being very obviously Western. The fact she's a girl probably causes the makers to ignore how much a higher weight to height ratio is more common in healthy Europeans... but ENH! Gotta have an aesthetic equivalent to Celestia... don't bother with making her weigh more than a wet towel!

My Weight: Adjusted up greatly, 132 lbs

Teruteru Hanamura

Height: 4 feet 3 inches

Canon Weight: 152 lbs

My Take: Much like Hifumi, Teruteru also suffers from being dramatically overweighted due to being a "fat" or "chubby" (the latter is more accurate with his build) while also not clearly being an obviously athletic character. Teruteru notably displays a reticence to walking unneeded distance in Island Mode, and gets worn out after exertion more extreme than quickly serving large food trays or some light swimming in the shallows. He's a little bitty fat boy, but for some dumb reason his canonical weight portrays him as either a lil buff dude with some fat, or as someone even larger than Hifumi in shape but on a tiny form, which he provably isn't. By sight, he's obviously a bit chubby, and by behaviour, he's not that athletic, so we must assume his weight bulk is primarily fat, once you discount the weight of skin, organs, bones, and muscles...

My Weight: Adjusted down heavily, 122 lbs

Ryota Mitarai

Height: 5 feet 3 inches

Canon Weight: 106 lbs

My Take: Since he's technically in this class, I kinda count him! And he's... a difficult study. He's very clearly meant to be underweight and severely neglecting his health when he appears with this weight, so I tend to let the canon weight be for the purposes of representing his "almost died" body condition, even though the canon loves, LOVES to make skinny girls this weight with no consequence... bullshit!

My Weight: Unchanged (if underweight) 106 lbs, if healthier 114 lbs.

I am reopening regular artwork commissions for the year! Digital and traditional--I'm restocked on good paper and am fully ready to devote normal work hours to makin' y'all some arts. I'm going to operate on a more flexible pricing model for this next period, with the standard works with single characters and the like being flat rate but extra complexity and stuff calling for a little extra note chatting to determine how much more time and effort needs to go into it.

The art offered is as follows!

Digital Commissions

Cheaper to produce (since no fancy paper or inks or anything need be used), great for printing onto a variety of things, excellent to display online... Digital is pretty and is more accessible for the thinner wallets. And, also, considering my new rates are commercial-set ones, *artwork received on commission from me may absolutely be used commercially on printed items like T-shirts, stickers, etc., and may be used in for-profit displays and the like, provided that artist credit and direction back to my page is provided!*

Basic Flat-Color Digital Art:

Young Refugees

Expect detail and vibrant colors!

The baseline, flat price for this tier of commission starts at $12.00 USD (Complexity and sheer number of characters and details may bump the price up to a maximum of $30).

Time frame: Flat Color illustrations are the quickest to turn around. Once the lineart is done (which usually takes half a working day) adding color layers and adjusting for ideal contrast and saturation levels takes the other half of a working day--so once I have the information on what you want and the payment goes through I can usually complete these commissions within 48 hours.

Fully-Shaded Digital Art:

Identified as Heartless X-06

Fully-finished and shaded Digital Commissions can have background or be a transparent piece for printing and display on an already established background.

The baseline price for these starts at $25.00 USD, (this can bump up to as high as $45 if complexity is involved).

Time frame: Once I have directions on the artwork, I generally will need two free working days to finish fully shaded digital work. This may be as long as four working days if complexity is involved.

Traditional Commissions:

Traditional artwork is a little pricier, but if you want the look of a painting or the brush and pencil strokes of a genuine physical watercolor or drawing, then it's hard to replicate without getting out the paper.

Toned Paper Artwork:

Summoned From the Orbs

Drawings on toned paper are up for commission--the benefits are that the look is unmistakable and it comes with a natural blended background, as well as being able to use the beginning color with the piece.

Flat price for these is $30.00 USD. They always come in the size of colored papers that I have, so certain levels of complexity are not possible for these.

Time frame: These can be quickly done, but will still usually take about two working days to complete.

Traditional Drawing Illustration:

Ancardian Pantheon Series--Simarj

Fully realized traditional drawings--using a variety of ink-based and colored pencil media--which can either include a blank background or a fully-detailed one.

The Base starting price for these is set at $30.00 USD (in cases of greater complexity, the price may increase to as high as $55).

Time frame: Traditional art of this tier can take a fair amount of time to get right. Inking alone often takes a full working day, and the color stages can take several more. In most cases a commission of this type can be finished in about five working days.

Traditional Painting on Canvas:

Fruiting Cycle

Canvas paintings can also optionally be shipped to you if you wish to cover the costs of doing so, and may be painted on either a stretched canvas or a canvas panel in a standard framing size. A personalized painting in either acrylic or gouache/watercolors is the highest tier of work I can offer!

Flat base price for a painting is $50.00 USD (optionally, a flexible amount can be added to cover shipping prices, for those who wish to have their piece of art sent to them).

Time Frame: Work requiring a painting studio takes a fair amount of time. Usually if I'm using acrylic or watercolor paints, a single layer will take at least an hour to dry, meaning paintings usually take a week or so to complete to satisfaction and dry properly.

Grief

2 min read

If I am less active than usual for the next long while, know it's because I'm grieving.

Late yesterday evening, I learned that my father passed away unexpectedly and suddenly. I have spent most waking moments since this crying and a complete mess, only able to be coherent in text form. I had nothing but love for that man even in his most frustrating moments and I'm in extreme emotional and physical pain knowing he's gone. Much of my love for nature comes from him and much of my nature photography was taken in his presence. There is nothing more sorrowful for me than knowing I'll never have another chance to go hiking and show him another strange mushroom or wildflowre.

If anything I might post in the next weeks, it will be fixated on either joy-seeking to numb the pain, or on this. Know that despite my history with mental illness, I have taken counseling steps and physical safety steps to prevent anything happening that would cause myself harm. The worst I'm doing for myself is sobbing in front of strangers and letting my nose get horribly chapped from these plain tissues. And eating too much suger against the bitterness.

Our family have yet to find any living will, so if you would like to contribute in ay way to burial and local obituary you may leave it here: SpideySnek@paypal.me

I don't expect any help since I'm sure he has something to cover this, just he never really talked about what might happen after his death with any of us. Please please if you're an oldere adult and have loved ones, leave a list of policy numbers and a will, let your kids and close friends know where things are, just leave something where it is easy to find and you will save the people you love a lot of hearache and extra difficulty. It's hard enough without this.

If you would like to commission me, you will need to give me at least a few days. I will announce when normal-timed commissions are likely again. It may not happen again for several months, if not a full year. If you would like to talk via notes or chat, I would appreciate it. If you have resources to give for dealing with or for grief, I would also appreciate it.

I've got a big bunch of this Dragonball-based fanfiction written I want to post... XD But I'm delayed because I have no earthly idea of what to call this thing. And it's sizing up to be a very long thing, partly episodic but linked together, and the lack of a title is stumping me. It's focused on Androids 17 and 18 and taking place starting right after the Cell saga ends, so I'm tempted to just slap "Android Story" on it and think of a proper title later just so I can put up some chapters of it.

(Probably a bit of warning needed for this story, since it's probably written with a more mature audience in mind. Not in a perverted or even a violent way considering what Dragonball is like, just that the ideas in it are a bit deeper than the usual shonen fare, including the tiny shots of deeper themes that Toriyama has slipped into DBS. In terms of physical violence, enh, overlaps exactly with what's already in DBZ/S. I've always liked the Android and Cell sagas most because the atmosphere of the manga started to take on several other genres--sci-fi and horror most notably--which really made things more complex and interesting.)

Whaddya think? Post some early with temporary title--or wait until I have a solid one so I don't have to change stuff later?

Had a random unintentional hiatus. Should be posting stuff again quite soon: a mixture of the remainder of some of my Ancardian homebrew work (that still needs testing), as well as a massive chunk of Dragonball-ish stuff. Turns out my idiom shifted easily back on into the DBZ/DBS sort. XD It happens.
